Dry brushing is a traditional Ayurvedic daily routine which promotes lymphatic cleansing and is a powerful way to support the removal of ama, or toxins from the body.
Dry brushing is best done in the morning before bathing, with dry skin. Stand in the bathtub/shower to capture exfoliated skin.
Begin brushing at the feet, continuing up the torso and to the neck. Use firm, vigorous long sweeping strokes for limbs, always in the direction towards the heart. Use circular strokes on the stomach, joints and buttocks in clockwise motion.
